Welcome To Ebor Lifesaving Club
We meet on Friday nights at Energise from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. Anybody over the age of 8 who can swim 1 length of the pool is more than welcome. Energise feeds through their swim York scheme to Ebor Lifesaving Club where they can develop lifesaving skills and gain recognized qualifications through the Royal Lifesaving Societey.
Lifesaving is a sport for everyone and a lot more fun than swimming up and down. It is a valuable community skill that could save lives. Lifesavers can bridge the gap between an incident being discovered and the emergency services arriving, in effect making a crucial difference. Emergencies don’t just happen to other people it could be your family or friends who may need your lifesaving skills to save their lives.
Stay safe this winter
Areas with frozen lakes, ponds, canals and reservoirs can be beautiful places to visit during the winter months but all too often many people risk their lives by venturing onto frozen water. In winter, children and pets are particularly at risk when tempted to play on the ice formed on open water, and adults can find themselves at risk if attempting to save them.
Visit www.defibwarehouse.co.uk to browse our full range of defibrillators. We stock a full range of AED’s suitable for leisure centre environments and for use outdoors in harsh conditions including the popular Philips/Laerdal FRx Defibrillator. It is essential when choosing AED,s that they are suitable for the environment they are to be used in. Early defibrillation can be the difference between life and death in a case of sudden cardiac arrest. We can advise, train and supply all makes of AED.
2013 Lifesaving Competition
We are proud to announce York’s very own lifesaving competition will be held at Energise leisure facility on 5th October 2013 (6.00pm – 9.00pm).
We aim to get local groups of volunteer and professional lifeguards form pools in the York area to come along for a fun but competitive event to raise the profile of lifesaving sport.
